Another "Cabinaire", The "Saci" - Serial # 444, arrives to new home in Sainte Agathe des Monts, QC from Winnipeg MN - August 2, 2004 with a Hoclaws tilt Trailer. 40HP Johnson. Vintage late 1960 or early 1970s. Currently undergoing total disassembly and cleaning - Aug 19, 2004 |
"Saci" restoration not finished yet, but launched August 25, 2004 to enjoy a "little" summer. Side windows and more are missing. Will tackle this winter. 1971 40HP short shaft Johnson working beautifully. Really scoots ! |
2005 update - new motor, replaced glass with auto safety type, bilge pumped added, boat named, still working on hull cleaning. Stay tuned ... |

 Hull paint removal process Note original red paint stripe on port side of the hull. Bow deck was white. (sort of) |
 Interior hull cleaning and restoration Note left hand steering - motor controls 1970, steering unknown. This part of the Resto project was very tough - styrofoam glued to hull then red felt glued to stryrofoam. Multiple strippers and tools tried with hundreds of hours. Some white stuff can still be seen on starboard side. Standard 3 bench seats. We added flotation foam inside front bench seats. Aft seat converted to 2 storage compartments |

 Custom cover - works great Will modify this winter to cover new motor 2005 |
New mooring location on the same lake. Pictures to follow soon Trailer bearings replaced and bearing buddy added last winter. Plan to sand & repaint the trailer this summer. |
